Summary
The construction activity is one of the most CO2 emitting activities. Rabot Dutilleul Construction, aware of this issue, is one of the first construction companies in France to realize a carbon footprint on one of its sites in northern France.
Highlighting the most greenhouse gases generating positions during a construction site activity.
Implementation
From January until June, 2008
Establishing the estimate of inflows: routes of the construction site staff and visitors, of supplies of materials and equipment, consumption of water and electricity.
Establishing the estimate of outflows: wastes, waste water, evacuated equipments.
Realizing, through an organization certified by ADEME, the synthesis of these data to realize the carbon footprint of the construction site.
Using this carbon footprint to reduce the most CO2 emitting positions. Setting-up actions like the company travel plan.
